Club meeting minutes for February 2025

There was a good turnout for the potluck. Lots of tasty dishes were presented and eaten.

There were 34 attendees at the meeting

Mannie brought some excellent raffle prizes and the participation was great.

The swap meet also had a good array of items. 

Membership

Current membership is 130

Finances

Balance is $7688 (membership renewals are coming in)

Training has slowed some due to the weather. Still going strong.

General 

Club membership should be renewed by the 15th of February. Also check your AMA membership to ensure it is current.

The solar panels at the field are recharged and seem to be in good condition. During the winter when there could be limited sunshine it’s a good idea to bring charged batteries to the field.

Elections

Since there were no new candidates the existing board will continue in their current roles. Next election will be in two years.

Field improvements

There was good agreement by those at the meeting to go ahead and extend the north end of the work area by 2 more bays. Details and a proposed work plan will be decided shortly.

We are also going to put some solar powered lighting under the canopy for night flying.

Up coming events:

Warbirds day will probably occur in early May. More details to come.

Safety

As everyone knows pilots should fly from the marked areas along the flight line. This enable good communication between active fliers which is very important when there are multiple airplanes up at the same time. Maxium of 4 pilots at a time ( glider pilots may add to this number but must stay out of the normal pattern)

Everyone is doing a great job of leaving the field clean and tidy. Pick up and take away anything that you brought to the field.
